Lord_Thorn My first time on the tournament scene, and first time playing in a long time - considering those, I had a great time (despite finishing last ^^). Nahuel (the organiser) created some really fun, imaginative and varied scenarios, and was always available to give a helping hand, whether it was to help people with official rules or his scenarios.
The players I met on the battlefield were great opponents, and I think we were able to always have a laugh. I didn't see any of the proverbial "That Guy". The armies were varied, and on the whole well painted, helping for the immersion in the games.
Most of the tables made use of F.A.T. Mats (with two fully sculpted tables), with good amounts of official GW and hand made scenery. I do feel there may not have been quite enough line-of-sight blocking terrain, which made the going especially tough against Tau. With the tournament happening in a Lausanne shop, the space between tables wasn't always great, and it was sometimes a bit difficult to place army carry boxes. There are also some steps on the gaming floor, so it pays to be cautious when walking around.
All round, a great experience, I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area. |
