AoS Worlds PreTournament - Tournament Schedule and Scoring

CHESS CLOCKS

Chess clocks will be in use at the tournament. This is to ensure that both players receive the same amount of time for game play in each round. The tournament orga will provide 8 tables with chessclocks.

The following rules will be in use regarding chess clocks.

DEFINITION
The responsibility is on both players to ensure time is used correctly.
Players in the game are the only people allowed to switch the use of time
Active player- The player who is currently taking their turn
Inactive players- The player who is not currently taking their turn

Time Pausing
Time on a chess clock may only be paused by an Judge.

Changing Time
Time may only be changed on a clock in two instances:
By a Judge
To reset the time at the start of the round. Each player receives 1 hour and 25 minutes of time. ( this means that 10 minutes will be dedicated as “neutral” time)

Time Usage- Setup
Time starts once the roll for first deployment/zones is made
The player who wins the roll begins the clock on their time
Time continues on the players clock who is currently deploying their unit
After armies are deployed time continues on the player who finished deploying their army first until a decision is made on taking first or second turn. Time then resumes on the player who is taking first turn (see below)

Time Usage- During Game
Time will always be used by the active player with the following exceptions. Switching time is the responsibility of the active player.
Inactive player asks active player to look up a rule
Inactive player must roll armour/damage/ward saves
Inactive player must remove/replace models
Inactive player must move their models
Inactive player is unbinding prayers/spells
Active player cannot continue turn until inactive player takes action
Special rules that require action during the active player’s turn (blood tithe charges, Lumineth shooting phase movement etc.)

Time Expiration
Should one player run out of time they are not allowed to take any action in the game. They cannot interact with the game with the following exceptions:
Roll Saves
Remove models
Any action that must be performed for the game to continue
During these exceptions the player who has time remaining may pause their time only during these actions
Should both players run out of time; both players will “play” the rest of the rounds adding only the scores till the 5 round, if the players cannot agree on the outcome they will call the Judge that will assess the situation.
In case a chess clock is broken, stop the game, take note of the time spent and call the Judge, it’s the Judges’s job to guide you to a solution.
