Tom_ep Once again a pleasure to play in Sint Niklaas. Some tables had open lanes in the middle, especially the table that was larger (55 inch), creating a firefield for shooty armies. Placing some terrain in the middle of the board, or letting players place terrain, could have helped here. Quality of terrain was good though!
Fun to play winter theme scenarios with funky rules, but as usual, half of the time everyone forgets to roll for effects, or doesn't understand/interpret them the same way. It doesn't really enhance the gaming experience imo, is just a source of extra frustration sometimes. Which doesn't mean you shouldn't continue to implement them eh ;)
Said this as well yesterday, when you implement these funky rules and get in armylists with units you generally do not see, do try not to invalidate army selection with a weird ruling on the spot, but try to think proactively why people take odd choices. I think you guys underestimated the implications of the winter theme, and what it ment for some armies. More thought into that next time and eth should be fine :)
Looking forward to the next one!
Comment of the organizer(s): Think we will implement rules per scenario and not general ones, makes it a bit les confusing. The alternative night fight was a bit dodgy, I'm thinking allowing barrage but scatter 3d6 because you're firing blind.
Anyways it's another year till the next winter doubles so we will think this over |
