Rules Pack

Event : French International Star Tournament (F.I.S.T), an international individual Team Yankee tournament
Date : Febuary 24th and 25th 2018
Location : Waaagh Taverne, 6 Rue Stanislas, 75006 Paris (France)
Price per person : 40€
Capacity : 16 players

Event’s specificities : the F.I.S.T is an open, international tournament.
16 players will compete during two days to be the first to raise the Star cup.
The tournament will be 75 points per army, with 6 rounds (3 on each day).
On Day 1, players will be split in 4 players pools.
On Day 2, best players from the pools will go in the Primary Board to have the chance to be Champion, the others players will go in the Secondary Board, with still a chance to be on podium. Day 2 will be “elimination rounds” system, yet “eliminated players” will still compete in the tournament until the end.
Each player will play 6 games no matter what, and will be prized.
The event will be largely broadcasted on social networks, before and during the tournament.
The tournament aims to be competitive : however, the most important thing is fair play, which is the golden rule of this event. Each player is expected to behave with the uttermost respect of his opponent and deliver fair games, with gentleman behavior, during the whole tournament.

Registration : the players need to individually register themselves on T3 website (LINK), indicating their name as well as the army they will play with. The registration will be final upon receiving of the money related to the inscription and the army list. Email to organizer for detail of inscription wire transfer. Due to limited space, organizer will use “first registered, first served”.
Tournament fees : the 40€ per player will include : store rental, prizes, as well as light breakfast on each day (coffee + pastry + juice) and lunch on each day (drink + main meal + desert). The venue has refreshments and snacks on sale as well.

Rules to be used : Team Yankee (BattleFront publishing - latest version), including latest FAQ (by January 21st 2018) and Expanded Missions for Team Yankee.
Only the official rules and FAQ would be used (if it’s not in it (like Q&A on the BF forum), it won’t be used during this event)
Authorized briefings : Red Thunder, Volksarmee, Iron Maiden, Leopard (and Panzertruppen), Stripes, and any official Briefing or PDF at January 21st 2018.

Models : models are meant to be self-explanatory (e.g : a M1 Abrams is not a M60). Models can be from any manufacturer.
All models plaid during the event need to be fully painted. Unit markings (to determine to which Unit a Team belongs to) need to be clear and understandable.
If models don’t comply to these rules, they won’t be plaid during the event.

Points limit : each army will be maximum 75 points

Other limit : there is no restriction in building an army

Lists submissions : each player is bound to provide its army list by January 21st 2018 by sending it to the organizer (email).
All the army lists will be controlled by the organizer. If a list is found incorrect, the organizer will communicate with the player in order for the faulty army to be corrected within 48 hours. Organizer’s decision is final and undisputable.
All the army lists for all players will then be communicated publicly after January 21st 2018.

Missions : the missions will be randomly determined prior to the tournament and communicated to players, two missions from each of the following groups :
Meeting Engagements : Free For All, Dust Up, Encounter
Mobile Missions : Breakthrough, Hasty Attack, Counter Attack
Defensive Battles : No Retreat, Rearguard, Bridge Head
No mission will be plaid more than once during the tournament
Match ups : the match ups can be NATO vs NATO or WARPACT vs WARPACT or NATO vs WARPACT. There is no “blue vs blue” or “red vs red” limit

Pair ups : on Day 1, the players will be randomly sorted out by “pools” of 4 players.
Theses 4 players will play amongst them for 3 rounds (each player facing each other player of the pool), determining a final ranking of the pool (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). The players have a full day to complete their 3 games per player. The order in which these games will be plaid is random. Players in the pool have the liberty to play the game at their speed : however, for the sake of respect of other players in the pool and organization timing, players are invited to respect the 2:30 minutes timing / 6 turns min. limit. Should a game is too slow, players are invited to be vigilant and call the referees each time it is needed (see timing for more details).

On Day 2, players who come 1st and 2nd will face players from the other pools who finished 1st and 2nd in the Primary Board, during quarter finals.
Players who come 3rd and 4th will face players from the other pools who finished 3rd and 4th, in the Secondary Board, during quarter finals.
Winners from Primary Board quarter finals will advance to Primary Board semi finals, and then final.
Loser from Primary Board quarter finals will down to Secondary Board semi finals, and then finals.
Primary Board players will advance in the Secondary Board semi finals and then finals.

The highest ranking for Primary Board is 1st place.
The highest ranking for Secondary Board is 3rd place.

The organizer will provide a clear picture of the Primary and Secondary Boards, which will be live during the event to see every player evolution during the tournament.

Scoring system (Day 1) : the score of each game will be determined using the following system : When a player met his Victory Conditions of the mission, the game ends. Count the number of Units Destroyed, including HQ Units, but not Independent Teams. Count core Units and their Attachments separately, so if both are Destroyed, this counts as two Units.
Winner lost 0 Units : Winner 8 VP, Loser 1 VP
Winner lost 1 Unit : Winner 7 VP, Loser 2 VP
Winner lost 2+ Units : Winner 6 VP, Loser 3 VP.
Both players lose a game that runs out of time.
If neither player met their Victory Conditions, both players treat their opponent as if it was the Winner, and gain Victory Points as the Loser.
Scoring system (Day 2) : the scoring system will not be used on Day 2 : it will be a Winning or Losing on each of the 3 rounds. Should a game ends with tie, Winner/Loser will be determined by (in this order) :
- who has lose the less Formations ?
- who has lose the less Units ?
- 80s music blind test (best out of 3)

Ranking : ranking will be determined using the Primary and Secondary Boards after Day 2 finals.

Terrain : each game will be plaid on 6x4 (180cm x 120cm) boards. Terrain will be provided by the organizer. Terrain on boards will be self-explanatory. Players are invited to discuss first between them effects of terrain before the game begins to avoid further dispute
Arbitration : the organizer will arbitrate the tournament as “chief referee”. Also, the organizer can request assistance from players attending (who will be identified as “referees players”) if needed. When a dispute arises between players, the players are bound to reach a solution, looking at the rules, the FAQ, and common sense.
If they don’t manage to, they will call a “referee” to arbitrate, or “chief referee” if need be. “Chief referee” ‘s decisions are final and undisputable.

Timing : each round will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Players are requested to play at least 6 turns each (unless Victory conditions are met before).
Additional 15 minutes can be granted by “chief referee” to finish the game.
Respecting the timing is respecting opponent and tournament organization.
