SAGA - Le Croissant et le Croque 2 - Information and Rules

Dear SAGA players


On December the 30th we will have SAGA tournament, as the 2018 sun will almost have faded away, we will play three Age of Crusades battles in this end of year tournament. Hurrah!

This event will involve SAGA Age of Crusades armies. We will play three battles. In the end every participator will be rewarded with a small tournament goodie, there will be an extra price for the best general and for the best painted army.


How to prepare:
Prepare your 6 point armylist to bring to the tournament. Clearly indicate the points breakdown of your army. You can choose to bring from all the main factions: Byzantines, Crusaders, Ordenstaat, Moors, Milites Christi, Mutatawwi'a, Pagan people, Polish, Eastern Princes, Saracens, Spanish or Mongols from the Saga Age of Crusades book (Old friends, new enemies armies will not be allowed). Legendary units are not allowed for this tournament. Auxilaries (see p69-73 Saga Age of Crusades book) follow the rules on Mercenaries (see SAGA rulebook) and are allowed. We will not play with Acts of faith (p74-76). If you are using auxilaries you must clearly state this and these units must be used every battle. As far as equipment and unit composition you can change this each battles as intended in the SAGA rules.

In the morning of the tournament day, we will make a poster table with the point breakdown of each army so everyone can see this.

Practicals:
The venue opens at 10 am. Please show up timely and bring 10 euro's as this will be your entree fee. In return for this you'll get some price support, great gaming mats and scenery to play on, cool opponents to play with and a lot of gaming fun. We will provide fresh croissants in the morning to get everybody started and for lunch we will serve croques monsieurs, included in the tournament fee. Drinks will be served at a fair price.

We will play the clash of warlords scenario (as in SAGA rulebook p48-49). In the morning we will roll for the deployment type (A, B or C) of each battle as well as the special rules (Dawn, Exhaustion, Cursed ground, Old Grudge, Judgement, Slaughter). So each of the three battles will be a bit different.

Victory conditions are clearly stated op p 49 of the SAGA rulebook. A victory will provide the winner 3 tournament points. A draw gives each player 1 tournament point. A loss means 0 tournament points. Bringing a fully painted army to the tables will account for 1 tournament point. In total there are 10 tournament points to be won.
In case of equal points in the ranking the tiebreaker will be the amount of tournament points your 3 opponents scored. 2nd tiebreaker the massacre points you gaind in battle 1,2 and 3.

In case of a discussion try to solve it as gentlemen, if looking up the rules or throwing a D6 will not solve the matter, the judge will decide.

Best painted army will be voted by the participants between battle 2 and 3.
