T³-Support Tournaments

The organizers of a T³-support tournament donate a part of their income to T³.

After the serverproblems in December 2008 we made some thoughts on the future of T³. One part of the consideration was the long-term hedging of T³. On the one hand there are the running costs like the server costs and on the other we need some reserve fund for unique costs like server services. Based on this we created the idea of T³-support tournaments.

For a T³-support tournament the organizer can decide before the tournament, that he'd like to support T³ with this tournament and donate a part of the income. As a "reward" the tournament will be marked with an icon so that any visitor can see that he'll support T³ with a participation in this tournament. The whole thing is completely voluntary.

The organizer can choose in the registration screen or later if and what amount they would like to support T³ with. The baseline is 25 Cent per participating player. 25 Cent aren't much and even small tournaments can make a contribution. It's not a big amount per tournament, but it's helping a lot as a sum to get us some money savings. As there were requests for bigger amounts, we implemented the selection of 25, 50, 75 and 100 Cent. So each organizer can choose on his own how much he'd like to support T³. Keep in mind that the donations are voluntary. Once the support is selected only an admin can change it.

After the tournament the organizer will get informations about the final amount and the bank transfer data. Please be aware that only the real number of participants is taken into account. Therefore we need the results, but this is also a requirement stated in our terms. It's needless to say that you can also make a donation without this function (for example if you missed to select the support).

Tournament Donation Accounts
To simplify tournament donations from periodical, small tournaments (like the ones of LGS) and to save the fixed fee of Paypal transfers, organizers have the possibilty to create a tournament donation account. Therefore they donate one bigger amount to T³ and it will be then reduced by the particular donations. This reduces the workload for the periodical payments and saves money with Paypal transfers or the use of business accounts. As a special titbit you'll get a bonus of 2% on your deposit.
